
The University of Newcastle have managed to take out the Eastern University Games Championships on their home turf in early July, winning overall and taking home more than half the sports on offer.
Out of the 15 sports over the three day university games, Newcastle (NCLE) took out an astonishing nine gold medals, four silver and four bronze.
A star studded line up from all across the games competed for NCLE, from regional reps to even Australian representative players.
With talent such as this, Newcastle were most definitely a force to be reckoned with, and were just too good to stop.
The general atmosphere from all competitors was all positive, and even though some teams came with competitive coaches and really meant business, everyone was there to have a good time.
The one thing most players were impressed with was the facilities that are in the city of Newcastle compared to previous years.
With over 3,500 registered competitors, Eastern University Games was the biggest out of the Northern, Eastern and Southern ventures.
With the social aspect being another whole world of fun, the Eastern University Games was a huge success for the City of Newcastle and for The University of Newcastle.
