After a year of disappointment following the consecutive cancellation of Australian music festivals, Spilt Milk is resurrecting the live music scene and bringing a new event to Newcastle.

Spilt Milk’s House Party has just been announced, touring across locations of Newcastle, Perth, and the Gold Coast.

The line-up features five pop indie artists including Glass Animals, Troye Sivan, G Flip, Artemas and Sycco.

Spilt Milk has been known to feature large Australian and international acts, with Dom Dolla and Post Malone raking in over 150,000 ticket holders across all four locations in 2023.

The festival was established in 2016 first premiering in Canberra, followed by Ballarat and the Gold coast in 2019 and finally Perth last year.

In this time, they have had some of the world biggest acts grace the stage including Lorde, Khalid and Juice Wrld.

2024 has been a harsh year for Aussie festival goers.

The three-day, international headliner festival, Splendour In The Grass, was cancelled post ticket release due to claimed unexpected events.

Groovin the Moo was also called off, a big hit for locals as it was set to take place in Newcastle.

There has been no announcements or social media activity from regional festival Grapevine, being another massive blow for local music fans as it is hosted in the Hunter Valley.

Yours and Owls music festival in Wollongong was culled down to just one day of performances from its original two-day layout, a result of headliner issues.

The announcement of this mini festival is bringing hope for the music festival scene in Australia, especially leading into festival season.

The Spilt Milk Social Media Manager expressed their excitement for the event.

“We’re really happy to be able to run an event this year even though we made the decision to move Spilt Milk back to 2025,” they said.

“There were some amazing artists available, and we wanted to be able to deliver them for the fans who would’ve missed out on them otherwise!”

The festival will take place at the Newcastle Entertainment Centre on Sunday November 24th from 3pm to 10.30pm.
