Students advised not to engage with reporters or paparazzi as Liam Hemsworth commences study at UON.
Australian actor Liam Hemsworth, star of The Hunger Games and The Dressmaker, has chosen The University of Newcastle to study a Bachelor of Psychology.
Liam met with the Head of Psychology and senior lecturers at UON’s Callaghan campus over the Easter break where he was taken on a tour of the campus and shown points of interest such as the Aviation building, the Shortland Hub and the Auchmuty Library.
He also had discussions with security services on campus during his visit.
The University of Newcastle has released a statement saying that the university is “thrilled to have Mr Hemsworth study with us” and has urged students to “respect his privacy” as he commences study at the Callaghan campus in semester two of this year.
Students have also been asked not to engage with any reporters or paparazzi that may be present near the campus during Liam’s stay.
It is believed that a bodyguard will be accompanying Liam to and from lectures, as well as sitting in on tutorials.
Liam Hemsworth has wrapped up filming for the upcoming Independence Day sequel and is expected to have his first day on campus on Monday, July 25.
Edit: This is a joke article for April Fools, unfortunately (sorry Liam Hemsworth fans!). Read Thomas’s follow up article with a few of the best April Fools’ Day pranks from last year here.
