Reach out to Relieve Queensland Floods

Our neighbour state is suffering from the detrimental damage the floods have done. It’s understandable to feel helpless as we go about our lives in a normal manner. If you’re keen to support our friends in QLD and Northern NSW, The Yak Herd has put together some ways you can help from afar. 

 

Flood Fund for Northern NSW

Head down to the Hamilton Station Hotel on Friday, 25 March.

100% of ticket sales go towards helping flood-affected areas.

Helping Hands For Flooded Lands

The Lass O’Gowrie have a huge lineup planned for Saturday, 26 March. 

100% of tickets and a percentage of the bar takings will be donated.

Flood Fundraiser

Dashville and the Grand Junkyard are now taking donations until the benefit show on Sunday, 27 March.

The benefit will host “local musos across two stages, lots of raffles and community spirit.”

Tickets start at $20 however, you can donate more if you wish. If you want to donate before the show, you can do so via humanitix.com

Buy a meal at the Great Northern Hotel 

Feeling hungry?? Get to the Great Northern Hotel this March.

With every meal bought, $1 will go towards Lismore City Council flood appeal.

 

Crowdfunding via GoFundMe

Crowdfunding is a great way to donate directly. Check out the website to donate towards specific people and areas.

 

Bakers Delight

Grab some hot cross buns at your local bakers delight!

Until 23 March, two dollars from every six-pack of buns will be donated to the Red Cross Flood Appeal. 

For convenience sake, you can also order some online.

 

ABC Shortlist

Check out ABC’s shortlist of charities you can donate to.

 

Your local Supermarket  

You can help donate while doing your weekly groceries. Coles and Woolworths are both taking donations in store.

Money raised by Woolworths will go towards the Salvation Army. You have the option to donate your everyday rewards in increments of $10.

Coles donations will go towards the Red Cross QLD & NSW Floods Appeal. For every donation received, Coles will match dollar for dollar up to $1 million.
